Yarn Place Gentle on a 2.25 mm needle. 76,860 stitches, 218 rows, 55 grams, 52" wide and 29" deep. Model shots when I see DD again (she's away at summer school). For now, a few blocking photos. I did a gentle block, not taut, and smaller crochet loops than the pattern, as requested by DD. I knit from the top down, substituted a continuation of the spider pattern for the fagoting in the pattern, added a small leaf to the corners to make it a bit more stable for pinning with a brooch, did a narrow edge on the hypotenuse, and added repeats since as of yesterday DD is now taller than I am(!). I loved making this and hope it survives life in a teenager's backpack...

I have already cast on Jatta's Zetor in red Alpaca with a Twist Fino, and a pair of socks for DD in lovely Regia for the days when I cannot see red correctly. Photos when they outgrow the blob stage. The fruit on our neighbors' trees looks more beautiful each day. This hydrangea fills a shady corner in our yard and reminds me of DD's Barbie years.

Beautiful!! I do hope to knit that shawl some day, too!

oooh, so pretty! I wish the lace bug would get me, because I love shawls, but alas, I do not love knitting lace.

Gorgeous!
I'm sure it will survive fine. I've had my Frost Flowers and Leaves on the couch all winter and it's doing great! Especially considering the abuse it takes. Streached, crumbled and sat on and it still retains its blocking.
Ain't wool grand?

I love the edging. I seem to be in a blue mood, or should I say mode, as of late. So obviously I love the shawl. Beautiful! I need to pick up the needles again. You have inspired me, yet again!

It's lovely, your DD will be thrilled.
My DD has asked me for a shawl, but at 7 I think she is rather young for something that time-consuming to make and delicate to care for!

Oh, wow. WOW. Look how many extra leaves you knit! And yet the shawl is still quite reasonably sized. Your gauge must have been somewhere between tiny and microscopic! ;-) And just thinking about all the calculations and modifications that went into it makes my head hurt a little. ;-)

Very beautiful! I love the leafy patterns. I can understand your worries about life in the teenager's backpack. Hope a girl is more gentle then my two guys were about theirs!

That is gorgeous! The color is just divine, and I love your modifications.

Beautiful shawl for your beautiful DD! I can't believe she's taller than you now. Yikes. Weedlike comes to mind.

Well, the lace bug has struck there, but it was only a little bug, thank goodness.

Your Fina is beautiful. If it really ends up traveling in your daughter's backpack, it'll probably require blocking more often than usual, but what good would it good sitting there without being used, right? :)

Beautiful! I like the corner modification. Very practical.
The gardens are looking fine. Those hydrangea are lush.
