Here are a few views of the rugs I just bought from Marie. They are BEAUTIFUL, with even selvages and a good, solid hand to the fabric. They will last for decades, and the colors are lovely. The second photo is closest to true color, a rich charcoal with tan and golden brown. They look as if they were designed for our new house.
This is Fina earlier this morning. Definitely beyond the blob stage. The yarn is so fine she still has hardly any weight. She now has little markers for each of the 19 fans, and I am knitting the two transition rows before the border. I was supposed to run a bunch of errands today, but instead I've been walking barefoot back and forth on my new rugs and knitting Fina. I did run a strand of sewing thread as a lifeline -- my first ever. I rarely have problems with lace, but chose to be safe; I figure that since I'm blogging Fina she's more likely to have a catastrophic run. The fickle finger of Fate...
Look at that hem detail!

Those rugs are lovely! And how cool that you could buy them from someone you know.

Finally! I don't remember what made me stop by the blog last week, but I did and saw things I didn't remember reading.
Bloglines finally condescended this evening to tell me you had "four new entries". Uh... right!

The rugs are very fine, and will add much grace (and coziness) to your lovely hardwood floors! I am excited that you are so happy with Fina.

That's so cool - rugs from Marie. First of all, congratulations and second, I'm jealous. I have to decide what I'm going to do - weave my own, fat change, or contact Marie.

Thank you for showing those rugs! Every time I visit Marie's blog and admire her rugs, I am inspired to want to try this technique someday. (But it will be a long way off someday.)

I like the texture of the rugs.
I live and die by lifelines. It is a wise move on your part.

I love those rugs too! The colors of the tile and wood floors just pop out of the rug fabric. Gorgeous. In fact I'd probably weird out and make people step lightly upon them.

Very pretty, despite the blue-ness.
